Spring is headed our way, and with this season of renewal comes the chance to get outdoors and enjoy the pleasures of springtime: abundant sunshine, budding daffodils, and some quality time on your laptop.
Sound incongruous? Not anymore. A dedicated group of sponsors from across the city decided that Greensboro was ready to go wireless. Now computer users can log on for free on South Elm Street - from February One to McGee Street - as well as in Center City Park. Sponsored by GoTriad.com, Time Warner Cable Business Class, IT Training & Solutions, Phoenix Networks, the Future Fund, the Weaver Foundation, the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro, and synerG, this progressive project was fueled by a belief in the importance of technology to a thriving and active downtown.
If your daily business takes you elsewhere in the city, you can still find a connection. A few free wireless hot spots in Greensboro include:
- Bear Rock Cafe
Friendly Center - Bistro Sophia
Dolley Madison Road - Bruegger’s Bagels
Pisgah Church Road - Bur-Mil Park Clubhouse Cheesecakes by Alex
South Elm Street - Daily Grind Coffee and Cafe
High Point Road - Digital Lifestyle Center
Quaker Village - The Green Bean
South Elm Street - Moe’s Southwest Grill
Battleground Avenue - North Elm Village Shopping Center
- Panera Bread
Lawndale Drive and West Wendover Avenue
