Undeniably one of the most significant dates in Greensboro’s history, February 1 marks the start of the sit-in movement. On this day in 1960, The Greensboro Four — Ezell Blair Jr., Franklin McCain, Joseph McNeil, and David Richmond — sat down at the Woolworth’s lunch counter and foreverchanged the scope of civil rights. This 10-foot bronze statue stands on the campus of North Carolina A&T State University.
