Built in 1927, the Greensboro Southern Railway Depot has long been one of the most spectacular train stations in the state. The facility halted operations in the late 1970s, but reopened in 2005 as the J. Douglas Galyon Depot. It now offers both railway and bus services, including Carolina Trailway, Amtrak, and Greyhound. 236 E. Washington St.; 336-272-3557.
