Set predominantly during the Vietnam War, this nonfiction novel tells the inspiring tale of two American POWs who were shot down and placed in the Hanoi Hilton prison camp from 1965 to 1973. One of the two men chronicled is U.S. Navy Pilot Porter Halyburton, who lives in Greensboro. “Mr. Halyburton’s story is very well-known across the nation, especially with military folks,” says Jeffrey Wilkins, who recently guided Halyburton on a fly-fishing tour. “Needless to say, I was stunned after reading it.”
